Happy New Year! I worked on this over the holidays. I had so much fun with it! A classic vintage vibe with a slight futuristic twist.

It’s a digital collage made of many different elements created separately with AI. The design of the piece and layout of the individual elements is entirely my own.

The background is made of two different patterns representing past and future. I put the combined images through the Decim8 app to create an abstract blend of them both.

Inspired by the winter solstice! This piece began with a round fantasy calendar made with AI, which I heavily altered to create a unique pattern for the background. I then brought the design into Procreate, adding layers of color and incorporating snowflakes made with a custom brush. Finally, I added a hand-drawn leaf, using a reference for accuracy. My goal was to capture the transition between winter and spring—and beyond that, the shift between the old and the new. A fitting theme as we approach the new year!

The doodle on the left came up in my Facebook memories today. The old one was done with a mouse on a computer using my old copy of Photoshop. The new one was done on my phone in Procreate with a stylus. It’s always interesting to look back on your old work. I can see the improvement. Anything creative is an ongoing and ever evolving process!

An abstract pattern design that came about from lots of experimentation with decim8 and a few other apps to bring everything together. It’s a great way to explore geometric patterns.

One of the most beautiful pieces in my crystal collection. An agate slice with dendritic inclusions! Nature is an artist! It’s inspired me to focus more on working with natural stone and crystal patterns in my own art.

There’s a vampire on the loose in this remote town, just in time for spooky season! 🦇 Had a lot of fun bringing this to life in Procreate. After finishing the portrait, I wanted to give the background more depth with a mixed media approach—layered paint, faux newspaper, custom stamp brushes, and my handwriting all tied together to tell a story.

For transparency, I used AI to create the reference image for the portrait, the newspaper background, and stamped elements, while the drawing and layout are entirely my own.

One of my Procreate creations—a fluid acrylic paint pour style painting with one of my custom inky brush textures. The cells you often see in acrylic pours are made with a custom brush by Alaina Jensen. I love using fluid effects along with unique patterns and textures in my work. It feels both calming and exciting to me.

This is one of my paintings done in Procreate. The Illustration was drawn using a photo reference, I prefer using loose, simple lines to allow the texture of my custom inky abstract brush and the colour below to show through.
